At IBC 2024, Z Cam showed its new P2-R1 PTZ camera. The concept for the P2-R1 is to incorporate the color science and image quality of Z Cam cinema cameras into a PTZ camera.
A key new feature to the P2-R1 PTZ camera is the larger sensor. I has a 1.1.3″ CMOS sensor that allows for a bit more shallow depth of field and light gathering. It’s capable of outputting up to 4K 60p.

Another stand-out feature is the inclusion of PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus). This is much better than contract aucto focus and the camera also has focus tracking and face detection. These features are very handy for interview situations. From the demo we did it looks to work very well.
The camera has an 18x optical zoom lens, giving the PTZ camera a good focal range.
Both camera support VISCA protocols and there is a 3G-SDI output, a 3.5mm audio input, LAN/PoE+, a 12V power input, and a Micro SD card slot. Z CAM also told us that it will also have an HDMI output, but tat wasn’t being shown on this prototype.
