Mid49 announced a new cage for the Canon C80 earlier this month. The good news for C70 users is that most of the cage parts will work for the C80, but Mid49 has made a new top plate specifically for the C80.
On top is a replica of the Canon rosette so that you can use the Canon handle. The active shoe mount isn’t covered so that you can use an audio interface for more audio channels.
The AB4 Audio adapter is one of my favorite features as it’s very form fitting to the camera and keeps it nice and clean.
The right side of the cage is adjustable, so it slides in or out depending on your needs. This is an advantage compared to a form-fitting cage.
The baseplate is the same one used in their C70 cage. The bottom is an Arri Dovetail and the top is Arcs Swiss.
