iFootage Shark Slider Nano II IBC 2024

At IBC 2024, I had a first look at the new iFootage Shark Slider Nano II. The updated slider features a new, stronger motor and can use DJI Ronin S gimbals.

The setup for using the Ronin S gimbal is straightforward. The setting adjustments are on the slider, so no app is required, which is nice. I like to control devices with a smartphone, but the convenience of making setting changes on the device is a good one.

You can set up to eight key points, all on the touch screen. Set the position of the gimbal, then tap the key point. Move to another position, including pan or tilt, and set the B point. Press play. The motion can loop or repeat.

Sizes

It comes in two lengths: 660mm with a 40cm travel range and 440mm with a 20cm travel range.

The Shark Slider Nano II can be powered with a NP-F style battery, AC or USB-C that can power the slider, gimbal and the camera. This is a very nice feature.

The payload has also increased to up to 7 kilograms (15.5lbs.) and the track has been updated from the prior version with linear bearing.

iFootage USB-C PD Battery

iFootage has a new USB-C PD battery that can power the Nano II for a long time and also can be used to power their Anglerfish lights that support USB-C powering. The light can be attached to the battery making it a handle as well as a power source.
