DZOFilm has announced the Arles B Set, which consists of the 14mm T1.9, 21mm T1.4, 40mm T1.4, 135mm T1.8, and 180mm T2.4.
These new focal lengths join the following existing lenses in the series:
- 25mm T1.4
- 35mm T1.4
- 50mm T1.4
- 75mm T1.4
- 100mm T1.4
The Arles FF/VV series are now available in focal lengths ranging from 14mm up to 180mm and they all cover full frame sensors and image circles up to 46.5mm.
I have already used the 40mm T1.4 and you can see that in my comprehensive review of the DZOFilm Arles.
Most of the lenses feature a T1.4 aperture, except the 14mm which is T1.9, the 135mm which is a T1.8, and the 180mm which is a T2.4. Making anything wider than 25mm or longer than 100mm with a T1.4 aperture is very difficult, especially if you want to keep the size and weight to a minimum.
All of the lenses, except the new 135mm T1.8 and 180mm T2.4, are the same length (4.8″ / 121 mm), but they have slightly different weights.
They share a common 95mm front diameter and an 86mm filter thread which means you could use screw-on filters such as variable NDs.
The aperture and focus rings are all located in the exact same position which makes them easy to change out without having to re-position lens motors or re-balance a gimbal, etc.
The DZOFilm Arles FF/VV 10-Lens 14/21/25/35/40/50/75/100/135/180mm Set (ARRI PL) is available for $21,398.00 USD.
