Deity Pulls Wireless DLTX and DXTX Transmitters from US Market Due to Legal Issues

Deity TX

The Deity DLTX UHF Transmitter and DXTX Plug-In Transmitter releases have been put on hold. Whether it’s permanent or just delayed isn’t clear. The issue could be with the Zaxcom patent. Even though the units don’t record while transmitting. Below is a statement by Deity.

Deity states these products will not be for sale in the USA, Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean. Other countries will be going forward; however, production delays are causing issues, so it might be a while before you can get your hands on one. This is a significant setback if Deity has to change the design to avoid litigation for the US version. It seems just making the transmitters not record and transmit simultaneously for the US version wasn’t enough.

Interestingly, the THEOS System isn’t affected, so I’m assuming it’s due to the 3.5mm input as opposed to the more professional LEMO on the DLTX and XLR on the DXTX.

The Deity DLTX is the same as the THEOS DBTX; it only has a LEMO connector instead of the 3.5mm microphone input. The THEOS system is still for sale at B&H and other retailers, including from Deity directly.

I’ve contacted Deity for more info and will update the article when I hear back.
