The ARRI Color Management for Virtual Production pipeline now offers full Open Color IO support, which makes it easier to configure your stage to optimal settings.
This update enables the ARRI calibration to be applied to any application that supports OCIO, including most 2D playback systems. In ARRI’s latest Tech Talk, Andy Oestreich, Virtual Production Software Developer at ARRI demonstrates the OCIO configuration process in more detail.
If you are not familiar with ARRI Color Management for Virtual Production, it allows the precise calibration of LED walls in ICVFX environments, significantly reducing the work needed on set and in post to recover missing color information.
ARRI Color Management for Virtual Production was developed through ARRI’s specialists’ extensive knowledge of the graphics pipeline and how the camera sensor picks up color on set.
It is available as a license model for virtual production facilities, and it enables the use of the ARRI LED Calibration plug-in for Unreal Engine. Productions using ARRI cameras will be able to achieve the best image quality, when recording in front of an LED wall or any other screen.
