The Alien 150C features an illumination area of 24.6×18cm/9.7×7.1″, while the Alien 300C measures 36×24.8cm/14.2×9.8”. Paired with the included pop-up softbox, they can create soft light while maintaining a compact size

The Alien features an advanced optical design, with light mixing technology and alternately laid and rotated WW and RGB light beads. This combination allows it to output a very bright and even beam. At 5600K the readings at 1m / 3.3′ is claimed to be 13,050 lux for the Alien 150C, and 28,630 lux for the Alien 300C.

Nanlite claims that the lights have a CRI Average of 96, a TLCI Average of 97, TM-30 averages of Rf: 94 and Rg: 100.

With a wide color temperature range from 2700K to 12000K and ±150 G/M adjustment capability, the Alien 150C and Alien 300C can match other light sources and simulate various times of day.

The Alien series is equipped with Nanlite’s new-generation user interface. By incorporating intuitive icons and minimizing textual information, the new interface can be clearly understood and seen. The redesigned menu layout offers improved operational logic, assisting users in quickly locating needed functions and adjusting parameters. The Alien series is also equipped with a preset function, allowing for quick saving and recalling of parameters.

The Alien series offers various modes.

  • CCT Mode: Reproduces various colors of light with a color temperature range of 2700K to 12000K and ±150 green/magenta adjustments.HSI Mode: Allows direct and fast adjustment of hue, saturation, and intensity, offering a wide selection of 36,000 colors.
  • RGBW Mode: Allows the user to independently select the values of the red, green, blue, and white channels, creating a wide range of color combinations.
  • XY Coordinates: Achieves precise color control by adjusting the values of XY coordinates within the selected zone of the CIE 1931 color space.
  • Gel Mode: Includes 460 gels from LEE and ROSCO, with the option to switch the base CCT, reproducing the lighting effects of traditional physical gels.
  • Effect Mode: There are 15 in-built lighting effects, each with customizable parameters to allow the creation of immersive lighting effects.

The Alien series has wired and wireless control options, enabling users to choose their preferred control method depending on their requirements.

  • On-board Control: The 3.2-inch screen clearly displays options and icons. It features the new generation Nanlite user interface with four buttons and three knobs.
  • Remote Controller: The Alien series features a built-in 2.4G module, enabling quick and easy remote adjustments of basic settings.
  • Nanlink App 2.0 Control: With the new light plot function and an enhanced interface, the Nanlink App 2.0 offers a more efficient and user-friendly wireless lighting control experience. Within the Nanlink App, users can control the Alien series together with other Nanlite and Nanlux fixtures.
  • DMX/RDM Control: Equipped with 5-pin XLR DMX in and out ports, it supports DMX/RDM control through a wired connection to a lighting console for accurate and reliable group control.
  • LumenRadio CRMX: The Alien 150C and Alien 300C are equipped with CRMX, enabling stable wireless DMX control.

The Alien series offers three different dimming methods: users can choose 0.1% increments for precise light control throughout the range, 1% increments for quick adjustments, or 0.1% increments specifically for brightness below 10%, ensuring both smooth tuning at low intensity and fast adjustments above 10% brightness.

With hardware upgrades and software enhancements, the Alien series now achieves better linear dimming. Dimming is claimed to remain smooth even at the lowest brightness levels of 0.0% to 1.0%. The fixtures also feature ]seven built-in DMX dimming curves and fifteen DMX modes.

When designing the Alien 150C and 300C Nanlite’s engineers prioritized quiet operation and efficient heat dissipation from the LEDs. To achieve this the rear of lamp head is fully covered with an aluminum alloy heat sink and enhanced by powerful airflow from dual fans. This improvement in heat dissipation allows for a further reduction in the size and weight of the cooling system, making the lights smaller and lighter.

The lights are equipped with five fan modes (Smart, Full Speed, Low Speed, Pause, Off). In Smart mode, the average sound level is claimed to be only 19 dB(A). Additionally, when absolute silence is required, the newly added Pause mode allows the fans to be temporarily turned off while still running the lamp head at 100% brightness.

Please note that in SMART mode, the lamp head will automatically switch fan speed according to the ambient temperature.

  • In SMART and FULL SPEED modes, the maximum output is 100%.
  • In LOW SPEED mode, the maximum output is 50%.
  • In PAUSE mode, the maximum output is 100%. (When the lamp head reaches the critical temperature, the fan will automatically switch to the smart mode.)
  • In OFF mode, the maximum output is 15%.

The Alien series is equipped with reliable and versatile power options. Not only can it be connected to AC/DC power sources for sustained power assurance, but it also allows for the option of using 14.4V-14.8V or 26V-28V batteries for remote operation. The Alien 150C requires only one V-mount battery for power, while the Alien 300C supports the mixed use of V-mount batteries with different voltages. Both the Alien 150C and Alien 300C support hot swapping between different power supply options*.

*The current intensity must be within the supported range of the selected power supply option when hot swapping.

The included quick release clamp enables the control unit to be quickly and securely rigged to light stands or trusses. Both the AC power cables and DC connection cables are equipped with self-locking connectors.

The installation of the included pop-up softbox is straightforward – simply fit the elastic bands of the softbox onto the shoulder bolts at the back of the lamp head. After use flatten the softbox and secure it by looping the two elastic bands over the shoulder bolts for storage.

A barndoor is available for optional purchase. Users can quickly secure it by screwing its four bolts into the screw holes of the lamp head. The four leaves can be swung to shape the light flexibly.
