At NAB 2024, Godox released the new Knowled F800R flexible panel light. The 4×4 version is 800 watts. That is very bright for a large source.
It is RGB and CCT so you have all the color options you need. It also features +- Green to really dial in the color.
The panel is IP65 so it can handle a drizzly day on set or a scene with a lot of water. The nice thing about large flexible panels is they can be folded down to fit in a smaller case.
The flexible panel has a Velcro strip on all sides, to which you can attach the included diffusion modifier and grid. Godox also offers a new inflatable softbox option that attaches to the Velcro. We are seeing a lot of these inflatable modifiers this year. It’s interesting, as I remember using them on a panel light 15 years or more ago.
The kit includes everything you need to use the Knowled F800R. The sturdy frame breaks down, and the panel is attached with a ball bungy cord.
Two more versions are coming soon: a 400-watt model and a 200-watt model in different sizes. The large Knowled 800 RGB can’t be powered by batteries; however, the Bi-color model will have a V-mount on the controller.
