Z CAM is branching out into PTZ cameras and they were showing a couple of yet to be announced prototype products at their NAB 2024 booth in Las Vegas.
The whole concept for Z CAM was to incorporate their color science and image quality from their cinema cameras and incorporate it into a PTZ camera.
The new Z CAM E2Z+ features a 1.13″ sensor and it is capable of outputting up to 4K 60p. I was actually surprised by how good the image quality was, and when I first saw the screen I didn’t think the picture was coming from a PTZ camera.
The stand out feature is that along with great image quality it has very good PDAF.
The 18x optical zoom lens also allows you to cover a decent focal range.
Z CAM also has another version of the PTZ camera called the E2Z which doesn’t feature the pan tilt platform.
Both camera support VISCA protocols and there is a 3G-SDI output, a 3.5mm audio input, LAN/PoE+, a 12V power input, and a Micro SD card slot. Z CAM also told us that it will also have an HDMI output, but tat wasn’t being shown on this prototype.
Price & Availability
The Z CAM E2Z+ will retail for around $2,500 USD and it should be available in around 2-3 months.
