At NAB 2024 in Las Vegas we caught up with SWIT to have a look at their recently announced OMNI Pocket V-Mount Batteries. The batteries are available in 99Wh and 50Wh capacities.
The OMNI Oocketi V-mount batteries are claimed to offer unparalleled quality and high performance. The 99Wh version has a 150W high-load output and both batteries can function in temperatures as low as -20°C / -4°F throughout their lifecycle.
They also feature an integrated LED display and multi-function DC interface, so you can sue them to power a wide-range array of products from mirrorless cameras, camcorders, digital cinema cameras, accessories, to high power lights.
The 50Wh version weighs 330g / 11.64 oz and the 99Wh version weighs 550g / 19.4 oz.

Interfaces
According to SWIT, when compared to the previous generation Pocket V-mount batteries, OMNI offers more interfaces. These include a 65W USB-C, standard USB-A (5V), 8.4V DC, and 14.4V D-tap.
Having a USB-C output allows you to power smart phones, tablets, computers, etc.
The battery terminal, D-tap, and USB-C are two-way interfaces, so you can use them to power accessories or to charge the battery.
LED Display
The LED display shows the capacity as a percentage, charge and discharge status, and battery health status. The batteries supports digital communication from SONY and RED cameras.
The sunken design can effectively prevent the display from being damaged by falling or hitting objects.
True High Load
The OMNI series batteries provide continuous output power of 100W and 150W for the 50Wh and 99Wh models respectively. This means throughout the entire discharge cycle, OMNI can provide nominal output power.
Construction & Safety
The OMNI batteries are designed to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C, to ensure reliable performance in diverse environmental conditions.
A built-in second-level multiple protection circuit provides first-level recoverable comprehensive safety protection for temperature, voltage, current, etc.
The OMNI BMS chip also has second-level non-recoverable protection, effectively avoiding safety hazards after the battery’s first-level protection fails.
Smart Hibernate mode
A Smart Hibernate mode automatically enters ultra-low power consumption mode after being left idle for a long time. You simply press the button to return to normal mode. Having this mode effectively prevents the battery from being used for a long time and causing the battery voltage to be too low due to self-consumption, which ends up affecting the battery life.
