At NAB 2024 in Las Vegas, we caught up with SWIT to look at their recently announced CL40D 40W Ultra Portable Bi-color Panel Light.
The light weighs just 842g / 1.85 lb and it was designed to be compact, affordable and lightweight solution that provides a decent amount of output. It looks like a good option for shooters that need to travel with minimal equipment.

The CL-40D provides 40W light output, and it has a claimed output of 1150Lux luminance @1m / 3.3′. It features a 64° half-peak wide beam angle, and it supports 0 to 100% PWM digital dimming. What is nice is that the output is the same across its 2700-6500K range.
The high frequency LED drive of CL-40D supports seamless slow-motion capture without any flickering, at up to 480fps.
The light can be powered via. battery using the in-built V-mount battery plate, via USB-C PD, to through mains power.
CL-40D has a snap-on handle to be quick installed on the backside of the light, and install on any standard 5/8” baby-pin light stand. The bracket supports ±90° rotate on the light stand.
