Today at NAB 2024 I had a look at the Angelbird MagSafe Compatible External Recording Module for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The External Recording Module is available in two models: a CFexpress B Recording Module and an SD card version. Both are compatible with MagSafe on the iPhone 15, making them easy to attach directly to the phone’s back for recording and transferring 4K ProRes 60fps files directly onto external media.
This joint effort by Angelbird and Kondor Blue is a custom-engineered solution that allows iPhone users to export the highest file quality directly onto professional CFexpress Type B memory cards. Uninterrupted data transfers are supported through a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2, 20 Gb/s cable designed with a recessed internal connection port for an efficient and secure recording experience.
With the Recording Module, you can preserve the integrity of high-resolution, iPhone-produced media files and gain additional storage space for mobile production. The module can also be used as a card reader.
The modules are also compatible with the Kondor Blue iPhone cages and rigs. The module has a ARRI Acessory mount for easy rigging with several Kondor Blue components such as a NATO clamp.
Both Angelbird MagSafe Compatible External Recording Modules retail for $99 and are available today for purchase.
