FUJINON has officially announced its new Duvo HZK14-100mm Portable PL Mount Zoom. This is the second portable lens in FUJINON’s Duvo Series and it now joins the HZK 24-300mm.
The other lens in the Duvo series is the HZK25-1000mm F2.8-F5.0 PL Mount Cinema Box Lens.
The Duvo 14-100mm was first shown at IBC 2023 and it looks to be a good upgrade over the existing Fujinon ZK14-35mm T2.9 Cabrio as it features a far greater focal range, a 1.5x extender, and it is lighter.
The Duvo 14-100mm T2.9-T3.9 is a native PL-mount portable zoom lens that delivers 7.1x zoom, covering 14-100mm, a focal range that is frequently used on set. The use of the built-in expander extends the focal length by 1.5 times, turning the lens into a 21-150mm. Yes, the lens doesn’t have a constant aperture, but it only ramps slightly. The minimum focus distance is 28cm / 11.02″.
The lens is 10.5″ / 26.7cm long and it weighs and 5.8lb / 2.65kg which makes it makes it very usable for shoulder mount work or when using a Steadicam.
Like all the Duvo Series lenses, the 14-100mm’s Dual Format construction allows it to be used on S35 size sensors, or on full frame sensors if you engage the 1.6x extender.
The Duvo 14-100mm features a T-stop of T2.9 at the wide end (14mm), which FUJINON claims makes it ideal for low-light concerts, nighttime events, or house of worship production environments that want a shallow depth of field, cinematic bokeh, and Fujinon’s legendary optical engineering.
With just two DUVO lenses you can cover a range of 14-450mm which would cover you for most shooting situations.
There is no indication of pricing yet for the FUJINON Duvo HZK14-100mm, but I would expect it to retail for around $30,000 USD.
