The Ovide Koko is a 10″ HDR Monitor/Recorder that is able to record up to four 1080p60 cameras or one 4K feed in Apple ProRes to a removable SSD. Recently they released a new firmware update that added quite a bit of new functionality. The Ovide Koko was originally released in June 2023 after being shown as a prototype at IBC 2022.
The 10″ 1920 x 1080 touchscreen HDR monitor covers DCI-P3 and it has a claimed brightness of 1000 nits and a contrast ratio of 900:1.

In some ways, the Ovide Koko 10″ HDR Monitor/Recorder may remind you of the Convergent Design Odyssey 7Q+/ Apollo as it can record four seperate camera feeds and it features a lot of similar functionality. Well, there is a good reason for the similarity, as Ovide actually bought the technology behind the Odyssey/Apollo from Convergent Design after they stopped manufacturing them.
You can also choose to view a single, dual or four up image display.
The Ovide Koko features quite a large array of inputs and outputs.
You can also choose from either a V-mount, AB Gold mount, B-mount battery plate, or bare leads to use your own solution.
The Ovide Koko features the usual array of video assist functions including Rec-Stop-Play in/out, histogram, waveform, focus assist, zebra, false color, and LUTs, etc.
You can also individually assign independent LUTs for each output which is a handy feature.
It is also able to automatically detect and read metadata as well as being able to record the focus, iris, zoom, balance, shutter, ISO, and looks, etc. from the cameras. This is very helpful in digital cinema production where editors and other collaborators rely heavily on this pivotal information for a proper and comprehensive post-production workflow. The Koko is fully compatible with all OVIDE systems, and it is equipped with a bidirectional analog audio input/output and a 3.5mm TRS headphone output. A LAN Ethernet port and a USB-C port are integrated on the rear of the panel, but these are intended for future expanded functionality, and a sun hood is also included in the package.
