At Interbee 2023 in Japan, Holyland was showing a new version of its Solidcom C1 Pro full-duplex wireless intercom headset system that operates in the 1.9GHz band.
This new version featured a hardware upgrade and a USB-C to 3.3mm headphone jack cable so that you could use our own headset for monitoring in conjunction with the Solidcom C1 Pro. Now, why would you want to do that? Well, if you are operating for long periods of time, working in noisy environments, or working in hot and humid conditions, you may prefer to use a smaller set of in-ear headphones. You do still need to use the microphone of the Solidcom C1 Pro to communicate.
As both the headphones on the Solidcom C1 Pro and the USB-C output are active at the same time, you could also attach a second pair of headphones so that someone else on set could also hear the communication.
The bad news is that currently, this new version is only being sold in the Japanese market, however, if there is enough demand for the new version Hollyland will start selling it in other markets. Unfortunately, you can’t just use the adapter cable with any current Solidcom C1 Pro system, as a hardware change is required for it to work.
If you are not familiar with the Solidcom C1 Pro, it has a claimed operating range of up to 1000′ / 350m and it is a follow-up to the very successful Hollyland Solidcom C1. I reviewed the Solidcom C1 Pro on the site and you can read that review here.
