The Neewer Mini Matte Box with Two 4 x 5.65″ Filter Trays and 67/72/77/82 Adapter Rings was designed to be a lightweight and affordable solution.
The clamp-on matte box is made from lightweight plastic and it weighs just 10.4 oz / 294g. It features a lightweight carbon fiber top flag and the base features a 1/4″-20 anti-twist thread for mounting optional 15mm rod clamps or mounting accessories.
Two 4 x 5.65″ filter trays are included for flat filters, and it can also accept round 92.5mm filters. Four adapter rings (67, 72, 77, and 82mm) come in the kit so that you can use it with a variety of lenses.
The included carbon fiber top flag helps block veiling glare or bright reflections and it can be folded down to cover the front of the matte box and provide protection to the front of your lens.
According to Neewer, there are no dark corners when shooting at a 15mm focal length, but they don’t mention if that is on a full-frame sensor.
The spring-loaded buckle allows for quick lens ring adapter removal. Two Stackable 4 x 5.65″ Filter Trays are also included in the kit. You can stack these filter trays by sliding them into the bottom slots or remove them by pushing the quick-release buttons.
