SmallRig was showing its USB-C Rechargeable Camera Batteries at IBC 2023 in Amsterdam which are available for a wide array of Sony, Canon, and Fujifilm mirrorless hybrids.
The new range of USB-C Rechargeable Camera Batteries, as the name would suggest, feature a USB Type C charging port so that you can charge your batteries without needing a conventional charger.
SmallRig claims that their new range of batteries will take 35% less time to charge than if you use a conventional charger. With high current charging (5V 2.2A), you can have a full battery in 2.5 hours.
What is nice is that the batteries actually feature two LED indicators on them that clearly shows the charging progress. There is a red indicator that shows it is charging, while the green LED indicates that the battery is fully charged.
According to SmallRig, the batteries feature a frosted ABS and PC case that is fire-resistant and durable. The batteries are also claimed to feature safe and reliable circuitry for stable voltage and current output. They are also the exact same size as the original camera battery, so there is no need to worry about them getting stuck.
