The next generation of Thunderbolt will be based upon the newly released USB4 version 2.0 spec as well as the newly released DisplayPort 2.1 spec. Lyle Warnke, from Intel’s Thunderbolt team, demonstrates an early silicon prototype setup with the next generation of Thunderbolt running at 80Gbps and get a better understanding of how the next generation of Thunderbolt will be able to reach speeds up to 120Gbps.
