The standard 512GB CFexpress Type A provides enough writing speed for Alpha videographers to record without worrying about running out of space, and the PRO version 160GB, CFexpress Type A, offers more than enough sustained write speed and advanced data recording technology geared toward professional filmmakers who need an extra layer of protection.
Engineered for Sony Alpha and FX lines, both the standard and PRO media unlock the full potential of the cameras, supporting all video codecs, including the slow-and-quick modes in the finest HD / 4K in XAVC S-I format, which requires up to 890 and 1200 Mbps respectively.

It’s always good to see competition, as this brings prices down. I’m sure we will see more cameras using CFexpress Type A in the future, but we have a lot of fast media options already, and investing in them can be expensive when moving to a new system.
