The 4TB SanDisk Professional PRO-G40 SSD features a tough, rugged design, and is IP68 rated for water and dust resistance in addition to withstanding up to 9.8′ drops and 4000 pounds of crushing force. It also comes with a 5-year warranty.
SanDisk claims that the aluminum core helps to quickly dissipate heat to maintain read speeds of up to 3000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2500 MB/s when connected to a Thunderbolt 3 compatible system.
The PRO-G40 SSD also works with USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 devices at up to 1050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s read and write speeds.
The drive has physical dimensions of 4.4 x 2.3 x 0.5″ / 111 x 58 x 12 mm
and it weighs 4.3 oz / 123.1 g.

While I don’t believe these are using the same internals as what is found in some of the SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD V2 drives that have been having failure issues, it is impossible to know for sure. SanDisk probably has a lot of work to do if they want to restore confidence in their brand, especially considering their handling of problematic drives.
