You can get some very affordable and half-decent 5″ monitors these days. The new FeelWorld S55 V2 5.5″ 4K Touchscreen HDMI Monitor (Version 2) follows that trend and is available for less than a Benjamin Franklin ($100 USD).

This monitor would be suitable for use with mirrorless hybrids or ebven small sized digital cinema cameras that have HDMI outputs. The monitor has a 5.5″ IPS LCD screen, a native 1920 x 1152 resolution, a 160° viewing angle, 500 cd/m² brightness, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and support for video resolutions up to DCI 4K. 500 cd/m² brightness is not a lot, so you would struggle to see an image outdoors in bright conditions without a sunhood.
As well as having an HDMI input and output, and multiple display features, it also has the ability to power select cameras via its 8.4 VDC output and a separately available dummy battery.
It features the usual array of monitoring assist tools such as histogram, focus assist, false colors, zebra, zoom, image flip, etc.
You can mount the S55 V2 monitor via its 1/4″-20 threads on the bottom or side, or use the included tilt arm to mount it on your camera.
The monitor is powered by one Sony L-series or Canon LP-E6 battery via its built-in, dual-purpose battery mount.
It also comes with a micro-HDMI cable and a sun hood.
