K-Tek has unveiled its new Essential Boom Pole which is lightweight while still providing a good operating range. The 5-Section Essential Boompole collapses down to 29.5″ / 74.9 cm and extends to 9 feet / 275 cm.
The concept behind the Essential was to make a lightweight boom pole that could be used by novice boom operators to cost-effectively hone their skills or those on tight budgets that still wanted a professional option without spending too much money.

The Essential Boom Pole is made in the USA using K-Tek’s high-density tubing. The boom pole weighs just 1.2 pounds / 544 g yet it is still claimed to be extremely rugged. It features a 3/8″-16 male thread fixed top attachment for external cabling and anodized surface collars to provide a firm grip.
When collapsed the Essential conveniently fits in a standard 1650 and 1637 Pelican Case, or medium-sized luggage for easy travel.
