MEIKE has announced its new 12mm T2.5 S35 Cine Prime lens that is available in either PL or EF mount.
The 12mm T2.5 S35 now joins the 18mm T2.1, 25mm T2.1, 35mm T2.1, 50mm T2.1, 75mm T2.1, and 100mm T2.1 to form a reasonanly comprehensive set of 7 lenses.
It would be good to see MEIKe add some other focal lengths such as 135mm, 21mm, 60mm, etc.

The optical construction of the lens compromises 17 elements in 10 groups and it also has 10 aperture blades. The lens covers an image circle of 28.2mm. I found from testing previous focal lengths that the MEIKE S35 lenses will actually cover quite a few full-frame sensors when shooting 16:9 video, however, a lot of the other lenses cover a bigger image circle of 33.6mm, so I doubt that will be possible with the 12mm.
The 12mm T2.5 has a close focus distance of 20cm / 7.87″ and a front filter diameter of 86mm, which is a lot larger than the 77mm on the other focal lengths. The focus rotation is 270° and it tips the scales at 880g / 1.94 lb (PL Mount).
The lens will be available in either PL or Canon EF mounts.

The MEIKE 12mm T2.5 S35 Cine Lens is now available to pre-order for $699.99 USD. It is expected to start shipping from the 15th July.
