VILTROX has announced two new 5.5″ portable HD monitors, the DC-550 Pro and DC-550. Like so many other monitors on the market, these are being squarely targeted at entry-level and budget-conscious users.
The DC-550 Pro features touchscreen capabilities, while the DC-550 doesn’t. Apart from that, both monitors offer the same, exact specifications and features.
The monitors share a 5.5″ 1920 x 1080 1200nit LCD screen that has a contrast ratio of 1200:1.
The monitors are very lightweight and tip the scale at 280g.
You can load up 3D LUTs via an SD card and the monitors have the usual array of video assist monitoring tools.
The monitors feature an HDMI In and an HDMI Out with loop-through capabilities. The inputs can accept 4K signals up to 30p.
The monitors come with a detachable and collapsible sun hood.
The DC-550 Pro and DC-550 can be powered via an onboard NP-F battery, through USB-C, or a DC adapter.
Price & Availability
The DC-550 Pro is now available to purchase for $198 USD. The DC-550 retails for $168 USD.
Both these monitors face very stiff competition from a wide array of 5-5.5″ monitors that are already on the market. While they look decent enough for the price, there isn’t anything in particular that makes them stand out.
