Godox has officially released the MG1200-Bi LED, the most powerful light in its Knowled lineup. The MG1200-Bi LED is a 1200W fixture that draws 1400W and it looks to be a direct competitor to the Nanlux Evoke 1200B LED Bi-Color Spot Light. Aputure has its own LS 1200d Pro LED Light Kit, but that is a daylight-only fixture.
The MG1200-Bi LED was made specifically for productions requiring a bright bi-color source.

As far as output is concerned, Godox claims that when used at 5600K the fixture can output 2703 fc / 29,100 Lux at 9.8′ / 3 m (with Reflector).
As far as weight is concerned, the light head tips the scales at 35.3 lb / 16 kg, and the controller/power supply is 14.73 lb / 6.68 kg.
The MG1200-Bi features four dimming curves (linear, s-curve, exponential, and logarithmic), and eleven customizable FX modes.
You can control the light via four buttons and a control knob on the back of the unit. The MG1200-Bi has a color LCD screen and it can also be controlled wirelessly via a separately available 2.4 GHz remote, Bluetooth app, LumenRadio CRMX, or DMX.
Godox has introduced a new mounting system with the MG1200-Bi, that recognizes accessories when they are attached, preventing improper use.
The Godox G Mount embraces a brand-new lighting system with optics including upgraded pro reflectors in different degrees, a 14” Fresnel lens, projection attachment, lantern softboxes, parabolic softboxes, strip softboxes, and octa softbox in various sizes.
The G mount is designed with touch spots to detect the optics, which provides an optional recognition function, ensuring a safer and energy-saving shooting process.
This is what ARRI does with the Orbiter. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
A 45-degree reflector is included and additional 15-, 30-, and 60-degree reflectors are available separately.
Godox includes a clamp that allows you to attach the light’s control box to a stand and a nice long 8-meter power cable.
Price & availability
The Godox KNOWLED MG1200Bi Bi-Color LED Light is expected to be available on the 27th of February 2023 for $3,490 USD, however, you can pre-order it now.
This makes it very well priced, although the Nanlux Evoke 1200B LED Bi-Color Spot Light is just $495 USD more at $3,895 USD.
