Core SWX has announced new Sharkfin plates for the RED V-RAPTOR that allow users to get extended runtimes and hotswap capabilities. These all-aluminum plates are available in V-mount (CXV-TS-VRAP) and 3-stud AB Gold Mount (CXV-TA-VRAP).
They connect to the V-mount of the V-RAPTOR so that you attach two V-mount or 3-stud battery packs (full size, mini or micro) to the rear of the camera. The set screw then locks the positioning in place allowing you to accommodate any size battery pack.
A storage slot holds a magnetic Allen key in place.
You can choose between using both battery packs at the same time equally or one and then the other. To draw from both batteries equally, you switch the button to the “I I” setting. When the switch is in the “I+I” setting, it will draw power from the camera operator’s side battery first, and then move to the other. This allows you to hot swap batteries to keep continuous power going to your camera and accessories. All mode changes should be done prior to camera startup. The switch is deactivated once power is drawn from the plate.
The V-RAPTOR Sharkfin Plates have two DC 11-17v, Unregulated, 7.2A max P-Taps.
