We are seeing more ultrabright monitors recently at competitive prices and Andycine has a new entry with 3300nits* of brightness. The $279.99 lightweight C5 5.5″ Daylight-Viewable Touchscreen On-Camera Monitor from ANDYCINE is a compact monitor that features a 1920 x 1080 resolution that accepts a 4K image, a touchscreen interface, and numerous built-in imaging tools.
*UPDATE: ANDYCINE contacted us and said that the monitor is actually 3000nits and not 3300nits.
The C5 has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a 160° viewing angle so you can still see it from extreme angles. There’s also a built-in light sensor so the monitor can adjust its brightness automatically when the light environment changes.
The C5 supports up to DCI 4K video input via HDMI, as well as various HD and SD formats via the full-size HDMI input and HDMI loop-through output. The monitor can also power select cameras or accessories via its 8 VDC barrel output and a separately available DC coupler. The monitor uses an L-series battery enables you to power the monitor using a separately available L-series battery or DC adapter.
It supports mounting a wireless receiver with an NP battery plate. A system needs to have the NP-type powering option to use the mount on the monitor. You can power the wireless video TX with the monitor 8V DC Output. Cables are not included for powering devices. Always check polarity before using DC output as you can damage both if they are reversed.

Updated OS
The OS has been updated from the C6 model. You can read up on the Andycine C5 here as Matt did an excellent review on it.
Keeping it Cool
To keep the monitor cool it has several vents and a low power fan that Andycine states aren’t going to be noisy onset. We all know some monitors can be problematic with noise.
The Andycine C5 is available for preorder from B&H and direct from Andycine for $279 USD
