Who doesn’t need more connectivity when it comes to computers and laptops. The new CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt Station has a whooping 18 ports with some unique features such as 2.5GbE. This hub will be a great option for the new Apple M1 computers.

The design is similar to the popular TS3. However, the insides are all new with Thunderbolt 4, added microSD slot, and USB4 98W charging, to name a few.

Monitor Support

*Some refresh rates require DP.14 HBR3 and DSC 1.2 support from host, GPU, and monitor. Some Thunderbolt 3 hosts that only support DP 1.2 will be capped at a lower resolution & refresh rate. The bit/color depth may vary in order to support higher refresh rates.
The support of higher refresh rates may vary due to OS updates.
Some Windows PC manufacturers have decided to restrict functionality on their Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C ports, such as charging and monitor compatibility. Check to see if your PC supports external monitors.

For a single monitor, use the TS4 can either connect to the DisplayPort or to one of the Thunderbolt 4 ports. If you wish to connect an HDMI monitor, you can either connect an Active DisplayPort to the HDMI Adapter or use a USB-C to HDMI Adapter.

For dual monitor use:

  • macOS users on M1 Pro, M1 Max, or Intel-based Macs can connect up to dual displays.
  • M1-based Macs do not support dual monitors through their Thunderbolt ports.
  • Windows PC Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 users can connect up to dual displays.

The new CalDigit TS4 offers a lot of port options. This will be a good option for M1 users as it provides the most current tech for the fastest speeds possible.

The TS4 retails for $359.95 and is available today in the US/Canada/UK/EU. Available Mid-March 2022 for the rest of the world.
