OM Digital Solutions, the company that swallowed up Olympus has launched its first lens, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 20mm f/1.4 PRO.
This is a compact M4/3 prime lens with AF capabilities and a reasonably fast aperture.

The optical design of the lens consists of 11 elements in 10 groups and it has 9 aperture blades. Two aspherical elements are used in the optical design to help reduce spherical aberrations to obtain a high degree of sharpness, and these elements also help to reduce the overall size and weight of the lens.
Speaking of size and weight, the 20mm F1.4 tips the scales at just 247g / 8.71 oz. It features a dust-proof, drip-proof, low-temperature resistance (-10 ° C) construction.
The lens utilizes a Movie & Still Compatible High-Speed Imager (MSC) autofocus system that is claimed t provide smooth, quiet, and fast performance. OM Digital Solutions states that the lens is suitable for both still and video capture.
The lens has a minimum close focus ability of 25cm / 9.84″.

The 20mm F1.4 is now available to pre-order for $799 USD. It is expected to start shipping on November 30th.
