Irix has announced its new 30mm T1.5 lens. The lens covers image circles of up to 43.3mm. The lens now joins the 11mm T4.3, 15mm T2.6 , 45mm T1.5, and 150mm T3.
The 30mm T1.5 is available in Canon EF, Canon RF, Sony E, Nikon Z, Olympus MFT/ Panasonic MFT, and Arri PL-mount.

The lens is made out of lightweight but resistant aluminum-magnesium alloy. It’s the same construction that is used across the Irix stills lenses and cine line. The lens weighs 1136 g (PL Mount) and it is equipped with a lens support foot
The Irix 30mm T1.5 is based on a completely new optical design. That optical design consists of 13 elements in 11 groups, including 3 Extra-low Dispersion glass elements, 2 High Reflective elements, and one Aspherical lens. There is also an 11-blade iris.
Irix claims that the lens has very little focus breathing. The lens has a front filter thread size of 86mm and geared Mod 0.8 M rings. The focus throw is 180 degrees and 75 degrees for the aperture ring.
All the Irix Cine lenses are equipped with Magnetic Mount System, that lets users connect accessories such as magnetic filters from the Irix Edge line up or a lens hood (not included in the kit).
Price & availability
The Irix Cine 30mm T1.5 lens will be available within the next few weeks. Prices will be $1195 USD for most mounts, and ($1295 USD for the PL Mount version.
