TTArtisan has released a new 50mm F1.4 ASPH full-fame lens for mirrorless cameras. The lens is available in Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon R, and Lecia L-mounts.
It is essentially the same lens as the TTArtisan 50mm f/1.4 ASPH. Lens for Leica M, but with different mounts.
The ‘nifty 50’ is a lens that most shooters own, regardless of whether they are shooting video or stills.
The 50mm F1.4 ASPH is a fully manual lens, so it is going to be more suited for video use than stills. The lens has its aperture ring right at the front of the lens and the focus ring is at the back. This is something you need to be wary of as muscle memory may well mean that you end up adjusting the aperture instead of the focus in the middle of a shot.
The lens has physical dimensions of 68cm x 57cm and it weighs in at just 420g / 14.8oz.
The optical design of the 50mm f/1.4 ASPH consists of 10 elements in 8 groups. There is one aspherical element, one abnormal dispersion element, and eight high index elements. It also has a 12-blade aperture.
The lens has a front filter diameter of 49mm and a minimum focusing distance of 50cm / 19.68″.
