Tilta has announced a range of new Tactical Camera Cages for the Sony a1. These range from a simple half cage up to a Pro Kit. There is also a range of accessories and most parts from the kits can be purchased individually.

Full Camera Cage
This Full Camera Cage provides protective armor for the Sony a1 and allows you to secure different accessories to improve the camera’s functionality.
The Full Cage features several 3/8″-16 and 1/4”-20 threads with locating pins, cold shoe receivers, and a NATO Rail for Type IV and VI Side Handles.
It also features an ARRI Compatible Rosette Connection as well as Rod Attachment Ports for our optional Single Rod Holders.
The rosette is specifically designed for Tilta’s Adjustable Top Handle which adds more flexible operating and handling.
The Bottom Plate provides 1/4″-20 threads for attaching your camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II.
The included Slotted Screwdriver allows you to quickly assemble or disassemble the cage and various accessories. It also conveniently attaches to the bottom of the cage for storage.
The Manfrotto Quick Release Plate allows you to easily secure the system to any Manfrotto compatible receiver or tripod head.
The Full Cage should start shipping in 2-4 weeks. It is available to pre-order for $76.50 US.
Half Camera Cage
This Half Camera Cage provides protective armor for the Sony a1 and allows you to secure different accessories while remaining lightweight. It features several 1/4”-20 threads with locating pins and a cold shoe receiver.
It also features Rod Attachment Ports for Tilta’s optional Single Rod Holders.
The Bottom Plate provides 1/4″-20 threads for attaching your camera to various quick release plates and is compatible with the 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II. An included slotted screwdriver allows you to assemble or disassemble the cage and various accessories. It also conveniently attaches to the bottom of the cage for storage.
The is a Manfrotto Quick Release Plate allows you to easily secure the system to any Manfrotto compatible receiver or tripod head.

Tiltaing Sony a1 Basic Kit
The Tiltaing Sony a1 Basic Kit is based around the Full Camera Cage, but it also includes a Tilitaing Quick Release Top Handle, HDMI Cable Clamp Attachment, and an HDMI conversion cable.
It is scheduled to start shipping in 2-4 weeks. it is currently available to pre-order for $134.10 USD.
Tiltaing Sony a1 Pro Kit
The Pro Kit, just like the Basic Kit, is based around the Full Camera Cage. You get everything from the Basik Kit as well as a 15mm baseplate and an Advanced Side Handle.
It has been designed to be a complete system that you can build up or break own depending on your requirements.
The 15mm LWS Baseplate Type II adds 15mm rod support to the system and allows you to mount rod-based accessories such as matte boxes and follow focus systems.
The bottom of the baseplate natively connects to our Tilta Standard Dovetails and also supports various quick release plates via 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads.
The included Advanced Power Handle mounts to the left side of the cage via a NATO Rail connection.
This handle features a 12V Micro DC Port (3.5/1.35mm) and an 8V USB-C port for powering your camera body or other accessories like the Nucleus Nano Wireless Lens Control System. The handle is also able to control Run Stop on the Sony a1 via an included Run Stop Cable. The rotation of the handle and additional hand strap allows for comfortable and flexible operation of your camera system when shooting handheld.
The HDMI clamp attaches to the side of the cage and allows you to securely fasten the included HDMI Male to HDMI Female Cable in your system. This clamp can help prevent the HDMI cable from coming loose while shooting and can help protect the port on your camera body. This can be especially helpful when using an external recorder.
