Breakthrough Filters DFM Drop-In Filter System is the first PL drop-in filter for the RED KOMODO and RED DSMC2 cameras.
This DFM Drop-In Filter System is a direct mount and it needs to be screwed onto the front of your KOMODO or DSMC2 camera. Essentially it allows you to use any of Breakthrough Filters drop-in filters, including their variable ND filter that has a range of 1-10 stops.
RED owners are sure to be lining up to buy these in droves given the ability to dial in the exact amount of ND required when running PL lenses.
The DFM Drop-In Filter System is still under development, but it has found its way into the hands of several RED users, including Mark Toia.
A lot of RED users have been using the Kippertie Revolva which is also a behind-the-lens filter system. Unlike the Breakthrough Filters DFM which uses drop-in filters, the Kipper Tie requires you to install a filter module.
There is currently no indication about pricing for the Breakthrough Filters DFM or when the product will be released for sale.
