Teradek has announced that they have joined the NDI ecosystem, releasing an NDI license for it’s Cube 700 series of encoders starting with the Cube 706 & Cube 755.
NDI (Network Device Interface) was developed by NewTek and allows for video to be sent over the network to be used in any other NDI compatible device whether it’s software or hardware based.
The NDI protocol being used is not full NDI but NDI|HX which has a bitrate of 8-20 Mbit/s.
With the addition of NDI, Teradek says that Cube owners no longer need to rely on HDMI or SDI long distance cables. NDI also integrates with vMix, Tricaster and other switchers. Cube owners can still use SRT for remote feed transport to a TriCaster, while using NDI for local ingest

The NDI license costs $300 USD and is available from the Teradek Cube website.
The Teradek Cube 705 retails for $2,790 & the Cube 755 for $2,990 USD.
