In December of 2020, MTF Services announced a conversion service for the Sirui 1.33x anamorphic lenses from Micro Four Thirds mount to Canon RF mount. This enabled the lenses to be used on the RED Komodo, Canon C70 & R cameras. Today, they have announced another mount conversion option, this time to Sony FZ mount for use on cameras like the Sony F5/F55 & F3.
The 1.33x anamorphic squeeze factor on the Sirui lenses matches nicely with the 16×9 aspect ratio image of these Sony models and fully cover the Super35 sensor.
Once correctly de-squeezed, the result is a 2.4:1 letterbox image with stretched oval bokeh and the blue streak anamorphic flares.
The Sirui 24mm f2.8, 35mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 lenses are available to purchase pre-converted directly from MTF Services website.
MTF Services now offers the Sirui anamorphic lenses in M 4/3, L-mount, E-mount, RF mount and now FZ mount.
