Wooden Camera has a range of new accessories for the Canon C70. These include everything from top plates, to baseplates, to power and audio adapters.
So, let’s jump in and see what is on offer.
Top Plate
The Top Plate for the C70 attaches using the standard screw that you would use to attach the Canon handle to the camera.
The Top Plate is essentially a cheese plate that contours to the top of the camera body. It features multiple ¼”-20 screw hole arrays along the top and sides and multiple ⅜”-16 screw holes with ARRI standard accessory mounts.
There is also a Cold Shoe offset which you can use to attach microphones, small lights, etc.
It seems as if you could still use the original C70 top handle if you are using this Top Plate, but Wooden camera also makes a replacement.
The Top Plate weighs in at 150g (0.3 lbs) and it retails for $299 USD.
Mini Top Handle
The Mini Top Handle attaches to the C70 where you would attach the original included Canon top handle. You turn the attachment thumbwheel to tighten a ¼”-20 screw into the hot shoe’s mounting point.
The Mini Top Handle features 4x ¼”-20 screw holes, 4x ⅜”-16 screw holes with ARRI standard accessory mount, and 2x Canon Accessory Mounts at the front and back of the handle
The Mini Top Handle weighs 84g (0.2lbs) and it costs $95 USD.
LW 15mm Baseplate
The LW 15mm Baseplate provides lightweight 15mm rod support at the correct lens height. 15mm rods pass through front to back and have two locking thumb screws per side. ARRI standard M6 rosettes are located on both sides along with 1/4-20 threaded holes. (1) 3/8-16 ARRI accessory mount also available on camera-right side.
The Baseplate features an upper ARCA Swiss standard dovetail with ⅜”-16 screw and locating pin for attaching to the bottom of the camera. Upper ARCA Swiss standard dovetail slides into the LW 15mm Baseplate core, and includes a push-pull safety release pin for removal. Also features vertical lens support post system.
Lower dovetail slot is ARRI standard for attaching to compatible ARRI dovetails or the included Quick Dovetail. With Quick Dovetail attached, the baseplate and camera combination can be combined with an ARRI standard bridge plate like Quick Release Bridgeplate (19mm) or Quick Release Bridgeplate (15mm Studio).
The Baseplate features Multiple ¼”-20 screw holes, 2x ARRI standard M6 rosette, and 1x ⅜”-16 ARRI accessory mount.
The LW 15mm Baseplate weighs in at 400g (0.8lbs). It retails for $499 USD.
Monitor Hinge
The Monitor Hinge is designed with a 180-degree tilt for shifting the viewing angle. The lower thumbwheel features interlocking ridges with an integrated ¼”-20 screw at for compatible mounting with any standard Canon Accessory Mount, including the Canon C70 hot shoe, WC Top Handle (Canon C70), and WC Top Plate (Canon C70). Upper attachment thumbwheel features ¼”-20 screw with standard locating pins for SmallHD monitors and includes an additional rubber pad for attaching third-party monitors.
The Monitor Hinge weighs 57g (0.1lbs) and it retails for $85 USD.

The Canon C70 Unified Accessory Kit (Base) includes a top handle for handheld camera operation, a top plate (cheese plate) for accessory attachments, a 180-degree tilting hinge for mounting on-camera monitors, and a quick-release baseplate system. All accessories feature a variety of ¼”-20 holes, ⅜”-16 standard ARRI mounts, and standard Canon Accessory Mounts for a multitude of attachment options.

The A-Box allows you to adapt industry standard balanced XLR male plugs to mini-XLR balanced plugs (female). the A-Box comes with free Bolt-On 19mm Rod for attaching to any 1/4-20 threaded hole.
The A-Box weighs 224g (0.5 lbs). It retails for $199 USD.
