5.9K full-frame ProRes RAW is now available for the Panasonic LUMIX S5. The Atomos AtomOS 10.55 firmware release for the Ninja V which you can now download, will allow you to record 12-bit ProRes RAW files directly from the HDMI output of the Panasonic S5.
The Atomos Ninja V is now capable of recording:
- 5.9K up to 30P
- 4K up to 60P
- 3.5K up to 50P
Anamorphic RAW
Together, the Ninja V and S5 allow you to record 3.5K Super35 Anamorphic 4:3 RAW mode (3536×2656). This is a nice feature to have, especially in a sub $2,000 USD camera.
AtomOS 10.55 can be downloaded from the Atomos website and the LUMIX S5 also needs to be updated to firmware 2.0 for you to be able to record ProRes RAW.
Just a note, I could only find AtomOS10.54 for the Ninja V on the Atomos website. 10.55 wasn’t there when I checked.
I reached out to Atomos and here is the link for the AtomOS 10.55 firmware.
