Venus Optics has announced the new Laowa 9mm f/5.6 FF RL lens which is the widest rectilinear lens for full-frame cameras.
With a 135° angle of view, the lens offers a unique perspective for landscape, street & architectural photography.
The lens consists of 14 elements in 10 groups including two extra-low dispersion elements to suppress chromatic aberrations and distortion
It is very compact, at only 6mm (2.4″) long, and only weighs 350g (12.3oz).
Being such a wide lens, it has a minimum focus distance of only 12cm (4.72″), allowing for ultra-wide macro shots.
The 5-blade aperture system produces 10-point Sunstars.
Leica M Mount
The lens is also available in Leica M mount. It supports rangefinder coupling and has a focus limit reminder.
The Leica M variant is also available in silver.
Pricing & Availability
The lens will retail for $799 USD for the Sony E, Nikon Z && Leica L mount variants, and $899 USD for the Leica M option.
The first 100 orders will also receive a free 100m Magnetic Filter Holder.
