The Photography Show & The Video Show which was scheduled to happen this weekend (14-17 March 2020) has been postponed due to the Coronavirus.
It seems that we are getting cancellations of events or companies withdrawing from large scale events daily as the virus continues to spread.
Quite a few big companies were scheduled to exhibit at the show including Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Sony and a number of smaller lens companies like Laowa & Irix.
We have been told that only last week, exhibitors received emails that the show would go on, so it’s interesting to see how fast things can change. Many companies would have continued to plan and ship product across since last weeks email only to be notified now of the postponement.
This is a copy of an email we received from one of the exhibitors which states that the show will run unless government advice changes.
The new statement on the website is as follows.
‘We are incredibly disappointed that we’ve had to take this action so close to the event opening. However, it became clear that the recent acceleration in Covid19 cases in the UK has led to heightened concerns for all participants and the show would be negatively impacted from all perspectives should we have proceeded. We understand how important the show is both from an industry and community point of view so we are pleased that we are able to postpone to September when we are hopeful that the threat of Covid19 will have significantly rescinded. Please bear with us while we make all the necessary arrangements to facilitate this move and contact all participants’.
