At IBC 2019, Wooden Camera was showing a working prototype of a powering solution for smaller sized cameras. It doesn’t officially have a name yet, but we have been assured that it will be something catchy!
The power solution comprises a 98Wh battery in a moulded case that includes three D-tap ports, a USB-out and a power input for charging the battery.
There is a small LCD display that gives you information about the remaining battery capacity.
The Wooden Camera solution screws underneath a camera or can be attached to anything that has a 1/4 20″ receptor.
On the bottom, there are two 1/4 20″ holes for mounting the battery to a tripod plate.
Wooden Camera will have a range of dummy battery solutions for various cameras that will work with the battery.
Wooden Camera expects its powering solution to cost around $250 US and it should be available towards the end of the year.
