The Hawk Woods NPD8S battery distribution system brings charge information reporting to the NP1-style battery popular with sound operators.
The ‘D’ stands for data and means that the battery can report charge status as a percentage and time remaining. Instead of a hi-rose there’s a four-pin lemo connector from the battery to enable higher currents.
There are two inputs into the NPD-8S power distribution box to double up on runtime and enable hotswapping of batteries. There’s also a small illuminated display built in so sound operators will be able to see at a glance how much runtime they have left.
Hawk Woods NPD8S battery distribution price and availability
The NPD8S is brand new, so although development is just about finished there’s no price available just yet. Hawk Woods hope to have it available to order in about 6-8 weeks.
