We’ve covered the Kinotehnik Practilite 802 before – since we saw it last it’s been revised and it’s now ready to ship.
Tweak, tweak, release
Practilite 802
Key features
- Bi-colour 3,000K to 6000K
- 90W draw
- Weatherproof sealing
- App control
Batteries can now be mounted directly to the unit, which draws 90W. This means it can be used with a wide variety of V-lock or Gold mounts, including the Hawk Woods mini V-loks seen in the picture below.
The diffusion panel has also been tweaked and is now made of ‘unbreakable’ polycarbonate. Does that sound like a challenge to anyone else?
With no diffusion the beam angle is 30°, half diffusion 60° and with the full diffusion panel it’s 80°. Output at 1m on full power is a claimed 5,000 lux. Colour temperature ranges from 3,000K to 6,000K.
The light is weather sealed and is usable in sand or rain (though it’s not for use underwater).
It can also be controlled remotely via the Practilite app for iOS and Android, which can communicate with up to six lights simultaneously.
Kinotehnik Practilite 802 price and availability
The light is available to order now and the retail price is $1,200 US.
