Zeiss has announced the new Supreme Prime range of lenses for sensors full frame and larger like the new Alexa LF, Sony Venice & RED Monstro VV cameras with an image circle of 46.2 mm.
All of the lenses are T1.5 except for the 15mm & 150mm at T1.8 and the 200mm at T2.1. On initial launch, the 25mm, 29mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm will be available with the remainder to follow in 2019 and 2020 for a total of 13 focal lengths. A 6-lens set is also available.
The lenses all feature a 95mm front with a standardized position for the focus and iris rings for easy lens changing and fast set up times. Just like the CP.3 xD line of lenses, the Supreme Prime lenses also feature the eXtended Data technology for recording metadata for VFX-intensive productions and workflows.
Available in PL, LPL and EF mounts, the lenses are expected to cost around USD $17,600 each.
