Sony has announced a new range of CFast 2.0 memory cards touting lightning-fast write speeds of up to 510MB/s and read speeds of up to 530MB/s.
The cards are aimed at professional photographers and videographers who need fast transfer speeds for RAW recording and fast burst RAW image capture.
The addition of the CFast cards joins Sony’s wide line up of storage media including internal SSDs, XQD, SxS & SD Cards.
Interestingly, Sony’s stills & video cameras don’t use CFast so it is owners of the Canon 1DX II, C200 & C300 II, Blackmagic Design URSA & URSA Mini that may be interested in these cards . Rated at VPG 130, they guarantee a minimum sustained write speed of 130MB/s. Ideal for recording in Cinema RAW light on the C200.
The CFast cards will be available in early 2018 with a suggested retail price of US$119.99 for 32GB, $199.99 for 64GB and $349.99 for 128GB.
