At Interbee 2017, Hive Lighting was showing a new fresnel attachment for their Wasp 100-C. The Wasp 100-C has proven to be a very popular choice for shooters due to its versatility and relatively low price. (1,051.58 USD)
For those not familiar with the Wasp 100-C, I reviewed it on the site back in July this year. The Wasp 100-C is based on five-colour LED technology and it has a host of tricks up its sleeve for creating unique looks.
Hive’s ‘Perfect S.H.O.T.’ system lets you control Saturation (denoted by “S” on the display), Hue (denoted by “H” on the display), Output or Dimming (denoted by “D” on the display), and Color Temperature (denoted by “K” for degrees in Kelvin when in local mode, or by “C” when in DMX mode.)
To make the light even more versatile Hive has started shipping a fresnel attachment for the 100-C. The attachment can be mounted on the light without any need for tools and features a glass fresnel lens. It allows you to spot or flood the 100-C to anywhere between 15-50 degrees.
The Wasp 100-C has a Profoto style mounting ring which allows you to use a vast array of other lighting attachments. You can also use it with a rangesoftboxesoxes and other diffusers.
The Fresnel attachment is sold as both an accessory and also as part of a kit that includes the 100-C. The Fresnel attachment is now shipping for $314.74 USD and the Wasp 100-c and Fresnel kit is $1367.37 USD
