The SmallHD 1703-P3X monitor is a daylight-viewable version of the 1703-P3. It’s designed to be used anywhere in the production chain: on set, on external locations and even during the post process as a reference monitor for finishing projects.
Bright enough to use outside
The monitor is rated at 900nits of output when calibrated, and SmallHD claim coverage of 100% of the DCI P3 colour space. The monitor ships calibrated but features an internal calibration tool to make sure you’re always seeing what you should be seeing.
Flexible video assist options
SmallHD’s Page OS system is built in and features the same video assists as on the company’s other monitors. That means you can take what you want – waveform and vectorscopes for example – position them on the screen and save the layout for later recall.
I/O and mounting options
There are multiple input options and you can display two of them simultaneously: A and B cams perhaps, or you can also double up the same feed, watching one as it comes from the camera and applying a LUT to the other so you can preview and make sure your picture looks how you want it.
The back of the unit features a Vesa mount and a rapid rail system to make attaching accessories like a wireless receiver straightforward. You can also power the monitor via V-lock, Gold mount or AC power.
SmallHD 1703-P3X price and availability
The monitor is available to order now for $3,699 US and is scheduled to start shipping on 25 September.
