Oscar winning actor Billy Bob Thornton has a message for filmmakers about entering My RØDE Reel. This year the competition has six categories and prizes with a combined worth of $500,000. New genre awards have also been introduced and include: Best Virtual Reality film (using 360-degree cameras), best 30-second TVC (Television Commercial, for RØDE) and Best Vlog. A full list of the 25 categories can be found at www.myrodereel.com.
From amateur to professional, all filmmakers are encouraged to take part and tell their story. To enter My RØDE Reel, people are required to create a short film of three minutes or less, as well as a behind-the-scenes reel that features a RØDE product being used during the production of the film.
If you want to make the next Sling Blade (1996), Armageddon (1998), Monster’s Ball (2001) or Bad Santa (2003) so you can impress Billy Bob, then you better get filming.
The entry kit is FREE and available now at www.myrodereel.com
