The CAME-TV Prophet is a new gimbal for compact system sized cameras that features the ability to be built up around a ring or stripped down into a variety of other configurations.
The transforming gimbal
The largest configuration mounts the gimbal and camera inside a ring, which seems to be this year’s favoured way of handholding them without more of a harness to take some of the weight. Perhaps the most useful part of this configuration is the feet on the bottom, which means you’ll be able to rest the whole rig on the floor when it’s not in use.
The CAME-TV Prophet is also usable two- or one-handed. In two-handed mode, a spring-loaded accessory mounts to the bottom of the gimbal section to smooth out z-axis (up and down) movements from your walking.
If you strip it down completely, the Prophet can also be used one handed.
CAME-TV Prophet: pricing and availability
The full rig version of the Prophet that includes the ring and feet will retail for around $890 US, and the z-axis stabiliser accessory will be priced at $299 US.
