Bright Tangerine were showing a new lower cost version of their Revolvr follow focus: the Bright Tangerine Revolvr Atom. The Revolvr Atom is a single sided version that is smaller and lighter, but built with the same precision and quality as its bigger brother.
The Revolvr Atom looked to be very well made and performed well from my short time using it at the Bright Tangerine booth.
Handling options
The Atom features a conical handle that you can remove and replace with the optional larger handle from the studio follow focus. The clamps and locks can be used with gloves and there is clever system that allows you to use lower ratio gears to increase the focus throw when using stills lenses.
Flexible mounting options
A lightweight bridge will snap directly onto LWS bars, or into 15mm and 19mm studio adaptors which can also be used with the Strummer DNA matte box. The Revolvr atom also has soft and hard stops where you can set your A and B positions, and use your forefinger to feel when you hit your mark.
Bright Tangerine Revolvr Atom: pricing and availability
There’s also a range of accessories including gears, speed crank, arms, and whips. The Revolvr Atom will be shipping in around 2 months time for a base price of $1,600 US.
