Sony now number two in US full frame interchangeable lens camera market

A7s MKII front

With the popularity of the Sony full frame cameras over the last few years Sony have just announced they’ve moved to second place in the full-frame interchangeable lens camera market, pushing Nikon into third place and leaving Canon in the top spot.

Sony: the new arrival

Sony sure has been pushing hard in a space that is comparatively new for them, however they’ve been very aggressive in putting video features like 4K video into their mirrorless cameras while the other more traditional DSLR cameras from Nikon and Canon seem far behind. 2017: already a good year for Sony

Sony’s interchangeable cameras and lenses have seen record sales in 2017, in particular within the US full-frame camera market, with double-digit growth, up 23% compared to the same period last year.
